Shanghai, China – September 20, 2024 – Folklore Games and SpaceJazz Games today announced that Spiral, a third-person narrative exploration game offering a poetic vision of cognitive degeneration, is now available on Steam and Xbox.

In Spiral, players step into Bernard’s shoes and accompany him through an unravelling mind. Rather than a conventional action campaign, the game is built around nineteen fully explorable memories — spaces players can revisit, investigate, and inhabit at their own pace over an estimated eight to ten hours. Exploration, attention, and small interactions gradually reshape how Bernard’s story lands emotionally.

A diverse cast is fully voice-acted in both English and French, grounding the memories in conversation and character rather than exposition alone. Mini-games tailored to specific recollections break up walking segments without abandoning the game’s reflective tone, while an original soundtrack tracks Bernard’s shifting emotional state.

Critical and player reception has highlighted Spiral’s sincerity and craft. On Steam, the title holds a Very Positive overall rating, and the game later earned multiple nominations at the 2025 Canadian Game Awards — recognition that underscored Folklore Games’ ambition as a debut-scale narrative studio effort.
SpaceJazz Games is the China publisher for Spiral, supporting the title’s presence with Chinese players alongside Folklore Games.
“Spiral is a rare, emotionally ambitious indie narrative,” SpaceJazz Games stated. “We’re honored to help Folklore Games share Bernard’s story with players in China.”
